Happy Holidays!
January 1, 1970
Hope you're all enjoying a wonderful holiday season! I just wanted to say how much I appreciate all of you, and pass along my wishes for a joyous holiday. Here's hoping that 2006 brings the best life has to offer to each and every one of you.
For my part, I'm currently finishing the Piper Rountree book. It's been an arduous year but an exciting one. I traveled to Richmond, VA, early last year to see Piper sentenced, and since then, I've talked with nearly 100 people involved in the case. Many of the interviews in the new book are exclusives, and I believe you'll find the pieces have come together rather nicely.
It's interesting working on a true crime book. I start out with the facts uncovered during the trial and then fan out, investigating on my own, until I eventually understand not only what happened but why. That's always the primary question. What and how are answered at the trial. Why takes a mountain of digging!
The Temple trial begins at the end of January, so I'll have little down time between projects. It promises to be a fascinating experience, as well. My heart goes out to Belinda's family.
For now, best wishes to all, and to all: Happy Holidays!
Best,
K
